COMRADES MARATHON BUSHWISE SAFARIS

We as veterans of the Comrades Marathon with 23 marathons under the belt and years of guiding experience in the Kruger Park are able to offer you an unforgettable Comrades Marathon, Accommodation and a Safari Experience of a lifetime.

Unique Comrades Marathon/Kruger Park experience

We know what is important for runners, and we are able to meet those needs every step of the way! Your itinerary will be as follows:

Day 1:

Arrive at Durban airport, collected by your guide who will transfer you to your 4-star Bed and Breakfast accommodation.

Day 2:

After a hearty breakfast a reconnaissance drive along the Comrades route with some of the prominent landmarks pointed out to you by your Comrades experienced guide, who will also fill you in on the history of the race and discuss any logistical support you may require.
Visit Comrades House and Museum in Pietermaritzburg.
Lunch en-route.
Evening traditional Pasta Party with guest speaker Graeme Fraser (6 gold medals and 3 times winner of Gunga Din Trophy).

Day 3:

Runners taken to register at Comrades Expo and assisted in registration and collection of your race number and T-shirt.
Light lunch.
Night free.

Day 4:

Runners transported to the start of the race.
Breakfast arranged for non-running members on the tour where they will be able to watch runners coming past.
Runners collected at the finish.
Night free.

Day 5:

Runners transported to traditional Aches and Pains Party.

Day 6:

Transfer to St Lucia to Bed and Breakfast accommodation or Durban airport for those not taking part in the Bushwise Safari to the Kruger Park. Sundowner boat trip St Lucia.

Day 7:

Transport to Bushwise Safari lodge via Swaziland.
Lunch en-route.
Arrive at Bushwise Safaris in time for an evening Sunset drive along the Crocodile River.
Dinner in the boma under the African sky.

Day 8:

Full day safari in the Kruger National Park in an open safari vehicle with breakfast cooked for you by your guide at one of the picnic spots in the Kruger Park overlooking a waterhole.

Day 9:

Option of half day safari in Kruger Park, or relaxing by the pool at the lodge.
Night drive in the Kruger National Park to see the nocturnal animals.

Day 10:

Up early to return to Johannesburg via the Panorama route.
Breakfast and lunch en-route.
Drop off at your Bed and Breakfast accommodation in Johannesburg and/or transfers to the airport.

Day 11:

Breakfast at your Bed and Breakfast accommodation.
Transfer to the airport.

Rates:

R1850 per person per day sharing.
R2000 per person per day single supplement.

Excludes:

Alcohol and beverages.
Entry fees to Comrades.
Flights to and from South Africa.
Gratuities.
Travel insurance.

Includes:

10 Nights accommodation.
Dinner, breakfast and light lunch.
All entrance- and conservation fees.
English speaking tour guide.

Please do not hesitate to , should you have any questions regarding the travel package, training, diet, weather conditions and race registration.

We will take the hassle out of you having to get to the start on time, get to the expo to register the day before the race, and find accommodation, transport and meals yourself. We will also have a guide looking after your non-running partner while you tackle the race.
